Candidate Statement:

(In response to the question, "Please explain why you believe you are qualified for the judicial position for which you are seeking election.")

As the Incumbent Judge, I have a proven record of performing well in this position and I am eager to continue. With the rare and unique background of experience in both civil and criminal law, I am well-equipped to manage a combined docket of civil and criminal cases. I am fair, impartial, empathetic and compassionate, and I treat everyone in my courtroom with dignity and respect. Each case is important to me and I give each one the time, attention and detail it deserves. I work diligently to render sound, well-reasoned and timely decisions. I believe the judicial power should only be exercised to affect positive change and to improve people's lives. I vow only to use the "power of the black robe" to provide stability, consistency, guidance and support for our community.
